Koko's World

Project Koko involves teaching a modified form of American Sign Language to two lowland gorillas, Koko and Michael, who live at the Gorilla Foundation's facility at Woodside, Calif. The Foundation's fascinating Web site profiles the participating gorillas and provides a unique perspective on their intellectual, physical, and linguistic development. Take a look at some of the intriguing paintings created by Koko and Michael. The site also features links to other gorilla resources—everything the gorilla fan needs.
