Chemistry If Grammies were awarded for Best Organic Chemistry Song, the students at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Penn., would have the category locked up. Professors Dee Casteel and Gretchen Rehberg offered their students extra credit if they composed song lyrics about chemical reactions. This Web site features the results of their chemical songsmithing. Even if you haven't heard of a Grignard reagent or a carbocation, the tunes are certainly familiar. How about "Oh, My Ketone" sung to the tune of "Oh, My Darling Clementine"? Go to: http://www.facstaff.bucknell.edu/casteel/chem212/songs/ |
