POSSIBLE OR NOT
Red dots represent bats flying through a chokepoint in the cave, first at a rate the Boston University team observed as crowded but workable (200 bats per second), and then at 8,000 bats per second, a little below the rate necessary for an old estimate of total bats roosting to be accurate. That old estimate must have been too high because there's not enough room for that dense a stream of bats, the researchers found.
