FETAL FOSSIL

This enormous fossil of a pregnant plesiosaur contains the nearly complete maternal skeleton and roughly 65 percent of the fetus (inset). The remains provide the first evidence for a long-held suspicion: that plesiosaurs, like some other ancient aquatic reptiles, birthed live young.
