MONKEY SEE, THEN DO

Infant rhesus macaques mimic a person’s facial expressions, opening their mouths (top two video stills) and sticking out their tongues (bottom two stills) when a person does the same. Such facial imitation may help infant monkeys prepare for a social world. Credit: P.F. Ferrari et al/PLoS Biology 2006
