A computer simulation shows the orbits of the sun (white loops) and the newly identified orbits of dim, low-mass stars called ultracool subdwarfs (orange loops) along with the orbit of a subdwarf known as 2MASS 1227-0447, which may be an alien star from another galaxy (green arc). Perspective is from 30,000 light-years above the plane of the Milky Way. Credit: A. Burgasser, B. Abbott
