Concrete creep

When a needle puts pressure on a slab of cement paste, the needle causes an indentation partially due to an effect called creep. A new study suggests that creep may be a product of the rearrangement of concrete particles just a few nanometers wide. (The bulge in the corner of the indentation is actually a speck of dust.)
