Fresh ammonia

This infrared image shows a region on Titan known as Hotei Arcus, where the Cassini spacecraft has observed changes in brightness over the past four years. Infrared spectra suggest that the brightness changes may be due to fresh deposits of ammonia that were carried to the surface by icy volcanic eruptions. Credit: University of Arizona, JPL/NASA
