During a Feb. 14 flyby of Comet Tempel 1, NASA's Stardust spacecraft photographed a side of the body that has never been seen up close. The image at left shows three terraces of different elevations, separated by dark, banded slopes. The widest of the banded slopes is about 2 kilometers across; the inset at right shows a closer view.
