  • "Prince" is not the first word that comes to mind when one thinks of the anarcho-communist Kropotkin. Your mention of him in connection with evolution -- one of his several scientific endeavours -- does remind me, however, that Karl Marx was a great admirer of Charles Darwin.

    Marx sent at least one of his books to Darwin as a present, and it was found among Darwin's papers after his death. The pages, however, were uncut, showing that he had never read it.

    A least that's the official story.
