Freelance Article SubmissionScience News does not accept unsolicited queries or manuscripts. News and features are written entirely by staff writers or professional science journalists under contract for specific assignments. Freelance science journalists who wish to be considered for future assignments may send a resume and one writing sample in electronic form to
freelance@sciencenews.org.
News ReleasesNews releases should be directed to individual reporters based on their areas of responsibility as indicated by
news beat. All releases should be sent electronically to
newsreleases@sciencenews.org and the name of the appropriate reporter included in the subject line. If no reporter seems obviously appropriate, the release may be sent to Attention: Editorial Assistant.
Releases regarding an upcoming event or publication should be provided as far in advance as possible, ideally at least three weeks before the event or embargo time. Notices of meetings and conferences should be provided at least a year in advance when possible.
