Pluto's hazy horizon

LAYERED HAZE  Not long after the New Horizon’s spacecraft buzzed Pluto, it captured an image revealing dozens of layers in Pluto’s atmosphere. That haze affects surface features such as the dwarf planet’s red patches, a new study suggests.

LHCb experiment

The LHCb experiment (shown) has detected five new particles, each composed of two strange quarks and one charm quark.

comet 67P

DUST UP  A plume of dust (indicated by arrow) shoots from comet 67P in this image from the Rosetta spacecraft. New data show that a cliff collapsing on the comet’s surface caused the outburst.
