Buzz Aldrin on the Moon

STICK THE LANDING  Despite worries that dust might swallow their lunar spacecraft, Buzz Aldrin (pictured above) and Neil Armstrong safely landed and explored the moon's surface during the Apollo 11 mission.

TAHITIAN FLORA  In 1768, James Cook led an expedition to Tahiti, during which a botanist collected tropical plants. Shown is one of 24 prints now on display in Hawaii, made from engravings of the plants by an 18th century artist.
