Rate of deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon

A map of the Amazon forest covering the northern part of South America over several countries. The map shows the tree cover as of 2021 as well as the larger area where there use to be trees starting in 1985.
About 17 percent of the Amazon has been cleared from historic levels, including through burning to make way for agriculture.
