Fechi Inyama is the 2026 AAAS Mass Media Fellow with Science News. She is pursuing a Ph.D. in microbiology at MIT, where she is studying the evolution of microbial metabolisms throughout Earth history. Her writing has appeared in the MIT Science Policy Review, Sequencer Magazine and Reviewer, Too, among other publications.
