QUICK CHANGE ARTISTS  Some animals are managing to respond to climate change. In Finland, the ratio of gray (left) and reddish-brown (right) tawny owls, like these two rescued in the Czech Republic, has changed as winters have warmed. 

DOWNTURN  Insecticides commonly used on farms may cause a drop in populations of bug-eating birds, like the common starling (shown), also known as the European starling.
